Special Needs Registry

The Special Needs Registry (SNR) is a free safety tool that helps Santa Clarita Deputies recognize and respond to people with special needs. The SNR is a secure online information database maintained by the City of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Sheriff's Department..

Who Has Access To The Information?

The secure information you provide will be instantly available to authorized members of the Sheriff's department for use in an emergency. It is visible only to you, the Sheriffs and the program administrators.

How it Works

Families or caregivers can voluntarily register an individual with special needs in the Special Needs Registry online.

Special Needs Registry Identification Card
  1. Create an account: To register an individual, you must first create a New User Account.
  2. Create a profile (one account can create multiple profiles) to provide first responders with the following information:
    • A photograph, description and contact information for the person
    • Information needed to find those who wander away from home or identify "found" individuals
    • Important medical, safety and behavioral concerns
    • Helpful suggestions for interacting with the person with a disability or medical condition
  3. Receive ID cards: Once registered, two Special Needs Registry Identification Cards will be mailed to the address provided in the registration form.
